You do not have to spend an arm and a leg on search engine optimization or SEO to obtain top search engine ranking for your affiliate marketing web page. However you should know that the higher the ranking the better your chances of getting more targeted traffic to your website. Your goal, if you want to succeed in your business is therefore to focus on SEO to get more traffic to your website so as to generate higher sales conversion rate.

SEO consists essentially of two types:

a. Onsite SEO relates to work done on your affiliate marketing web page and forms part of the ranking factors that search engines used to rank your website.

b. Offsite SEO relates to the ongoing link building work done for your website that helps your website to grow in the search engine ranking process.

For today's article, we will focus only on onsite SEO and the following ranking elements should be considered when you perform onsite SEO:

1. The two most important tags that matter the most in SEO are your H1 tag and your Title tag.

2. You should include your main keyword or keyword phrase in your H1 tag and Title tag

3. When you write content on your page, you must establish what is your main or specific keyword and include it as well as other variations of this keyword throughout the page.

4. There is no secret formula or keyword density to follow. A good strategy is to read the page after it is written to see if it sounds natural both to the reader and search engines.

5. While keyword density is not too important, however where you put your specific keyword is important. Placing them at the first and closing paragraphs is highly recommended.
